I turned 25 last week and all of my brothers were in the same room for the first time in over a year. It’s not that we aren’t close, it’s just that they are all older and have families of their own now. I being the youngest have much more freedom than they do. My oldest brother even has a kid in high school. Together they have eleven sons and daughters, so it’s safe to say that fertility isn’t an issue in my family. But when they all gathered for my birthday, I started to realize that there is a whole new generation in my family.

It has definitely been weird having parents that were much older than any of my friends’ parents. But I had a great time growing up because I was the youngest, which meant that I got away with the most. During my party one of my sister-in-laws announced that she was pregnant. It was great news and we all started coming up with popular baby boy names, because she is sure that she is going to have a boy. And if she does, that will be one more nephew to have in my beautiful family.
